Chapter 2: Omega Raizic

Home Chapters Info Guest Book

What was did that fox think he was doing? Talking to a Raizic could get him killed! The demon thought as he flew among the trees. I guess I can’t blame him though, he said he wanted to help me. He probably was going to kill me as soon as I turned my back anyways. He sighed, allowing himself to fly above the tree tops as the sun sank below the horizon. He looked back already knowing he had flown to far for him too see the cave and sighed again. Maybe I should have heard him out? Well it’s too late to go back now. I’d better get home.
He sped up as the Akaya Mountain range appeared in the distance. The mountains of this region where know to be highly volcanic so the majority of the population surrounding it stayed away. It was the perfect place for a clan of Raizic to live. He touched down on the craggy surface of the Valley of Liquid Flames, just outside his village. The rocks below his claws were warm, they would have to move away soon if they wanted to avoid an eruption.
The young demon walked carefully across the uneven terrain to the somewhat evener paths that led threw his village. “I hate this place” he mumbled to himself as he entered the rather deserted village.
A sharp pain suddenly stabbed threw his side as he was thrown into the wall of a nearby hut. “Oh really? Why the hell’d you say that Zane?”
“Adiel, why can’t you leave me alone?” Zane groaned, standing next to the small hut he’d crashed into.
“Aw that wouldn’t be much fun. Besides you’re an Omega. I’m aloud to take out my anger on you. That’s all you’re good for!” His fist connected with Zane’s eye, sending the younger demon to the ground again.
“I’m not the only Omega! Beat them instead for once!”
“What! You pathetic little fag! You’re so desperate you’d try to sic me on the other two?!” Adiel kicked him as hard as he could. Zane cried out as his ribs snapped and he collided with the wall again. “`Sides, you’re my favorite.” he growled.
“Stop it!” He said as loud as he could, the pain from his ribs flaring in protest.
Adiel laughed and stepped on his back, crushing his wings together in his foot-claw. “You really are pathetic! You won’t even try to fight back anymore!”
“It’s because bastards like you made me used to it.”
“WHAT!?” Adiel snarled, his claw crushing the fragile bones in Zane’s wings. “What the #@$! did you just call me!?”
“Y-you heard me.” Zane barely managed threw the pain.
Adiel snatched the front of his shirt and dragged him up to his eye level. “You pathetic little piece of shit!” he slammed Zane into the wall again. Zane glared at him, the hate he felt towards the older demon showing his eyes. Adiel slammed him into the wall again and again with each of his words. “I will not allow you to speak to me like that!!”
Zane forced himself to try to ignore the pain. He gave up after the last hit; he was starting to get dizzy. “Stop.” he whimpered.
“You brought this on yourself you gay bastard! If you can’t deal with it then too bad.”
“Adiel I think that’s enough. He’s nearly unconscious.” A scantly clad female Raizic walked up to the men. “Even if he deserves it, it won’t do any good to beat him when he’s out cold.”
“Keh, fine Sandra, but I won’t go so easy on him next time” Adiel immediately gave up his fun when his latest girlfriend walked by.
“I don’t care if you go easy on him or not! Beating a half starved runt like him can’t be as fun as you make it seem; and I want you to have fun.” she purred the last of her words into Adiel’s ear seductively.
“Hehehe, I know.” he chuckled, “You’re lucky this time Zane. See you tomorrow.”
I really hope not. Zane thought as he watched Adiel with Sandra. For once I’m glad he’s as lustful as he is violent. He winced as he shifted his wings when getting up. There’s no way I can fly like this. Rae’s gonna kill me when she sees me, if I can get there. Zane walked carefully, trying not to stumble and jostle his wings. It was a long walk down the mountain.

“Aaahg! I can’t believe this!” Cris whined, “I just get home after two days and she sends me right back out first thing in the morning.” Cris looked down at the list his sister had given him.

“I don’t even know what half this stuff is!” he stomped as he walked, his tail twitching sharply. “Grrr, little sisters are so annoying! She’s lucky I love her or she’d be dead right now!”
Cris sighed and tried to calm himself down as he saw the large hut settled against the sharp cliffs of the mountains of the Valley of Liquid Flames.
-------------------
“Hello Rachel?” he called cautiously into the open door. The mage’s shop was filled to the brim with packed shelves and boxes full of magical products. A shall, cluttered desk was pushed close to the far wall, behind it was a door covered with a navy curtain.
“Get lost! I’m not open!” the Dragon/Wolf woman yelled from the back room.
“But I’m here on important business!” he called back, “I can’t go back without supplies.” Ashly’d skin me alive if I went back empty handed now!
“Later then! I can’t help you now.”
Cris growled, he didn’t want to come back later; he wanted to go home and sleep for the rest of the day, like a normal person that hasn’t slept in forever. He sat down in an old looking wooden chair by the door and yawned. This was going to bore him to death!
“Ow! Watch the ribs; they really hurt.” Huh? Who’s that? He sounds familiar.
“Keep it down he’s still out there.” he heard Rachel hiss.
Cris, being a fox, was instantly curious. He recognized the voice, but he couldn’t place whose it was or pick up the sent of the person behind it. Actually he couldn’t smell Rachel either. It must be magic. Bet it’s that stupid curtain. Cris snuck closer to the curtain on all fours, using every bit of stealth he had. Being a thief for a living had its perks. He pealed back a corner of the cloth from the doorway. It was only a small opening, but it was enough to see the edge of a bed and part of Rachel’s dark purple robe. Cris sniffed the air and got a good whiff of the mysterious person; and of course a generous amount of dust. “Ah-ah-AHCHOO!” Cris sneezed violently. Well at least I know who that voice was coming from.
“Tsukai damn it, couldn’t you have just been patient!” Rachel screamed. (Tsukai is her God)
“Sorry, I just had to!” Cris argued with the infuriated Dragon.
“What makes you think you can come back here!?” Rachel’s wings were flared to their full length, the tips reaching the opposite walls. Her wolfish ears were folded back and the long wolf tail snapped angrily. She raised the sharp, deadly claws, ready to strike the fox for being so idiotic.
“Wait!” The man Cris had heard before had grabbed Rachel’s wrist’ “I know him he’s not dangerous.”
“Fine,” She yanked her hand back from the demon that sat on her bed, “suit yourself Zane, I don’t care” The dragon huffed and turned to the only real door in the hut. “If he kills you it’s your own fault.” She slammed the door behind her.
“Yeash anger issues much?” Cris sat on the bed next to the shirtless demon.

“I thought you were the one that said they’re ‘all short fuses and fire’” He leaned back against the pillows behind him and relaxed.
“So you are the demon, uh Raizic, I met before.”
“Yes. I would have let her shred you if you hadn’t been.”
“Ugh I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t make you hate me huh?”
            “A very good thing.”
“Well now I know how you know a dragon. I’ve only met Rachel a couple times myself. She scares me.”
“Rae’s an okay person, if she’s not trying to rip you to shreds.”
“I’ll try to remember that,” Cris yawned and stretched out on the end of the bed, “So your name’s Zane huh?”
            “Yes. What’s yours?
“Cris, nice ta meet you.” he extended his hand to Zane.
“Yah, nice.” Zane shook the fox’s hand.
“Ya know you’re pretty skinny, don’t you ever eat?” Cris leaned forward and poked one of his too visible ribs.
            “Ow! Don’t do that!”
“Sorry? I didn’t think that I’d hurt you with a tap.”
“It’s okay, you didn’t know. I broke them last night.” Zane held his tender side gently.
            “Ouch,” Cris winced.
“It’s not that bad. I’ve had worse.” He reached behind him to touch his wing.
“Still, ouch. You must been close by huh? You weren’t in that shape when I met you last night.” Cris motioned to his black eye and bruises.
“Are you boys done with the chit-chat yet? I have to get back to Zane’s injuries.” Rachel returned from the side room with a jar of thick blue-green paste.
“Ugh, that nasty stuff again?” Zane whined as he sat up and turned his back to the dragon/wolf.
“It’s the best I’ve got.” she shrugged.
            “But it burns!”
“That means it’s working now hold still.” she dipped her hand into the glowing paste and slopped it onto the bruises on the Raizic’s back.
“What’s that?” Cris bounced over to Rachel, “It looks nasty. Why don’t you just use magic?”
            “This is magic baka!”
            “Baka?” his ears twitched.
“Just get lost!” her tail whipped his leg.
“Okay okay, yeash.” You don’t have to be so mean. Cris sat next to Zane on the bed and started fiddling with the note he’d gotten from Ashly.
“What’s that?” Zane turned his head to try to see.
“Shopping list. It’s from my sis.” He handed him the note and shrugged, “Don’t ask me if you don’t know what some of the thing are. I don’t have a freakin’ clue!”
Zane chuckled and handed the note back. “It’s not that bad. Most of that stuff’s a day’s flight away.”
“Whoa, you know what this stuff is?”
“I was born here Cris, of course I do.”
            “I was born here too!”
“Well then your mother wasn’t a Moon Servant.”
            “A what?”
“Never mind, it’s a Raizic thing.”
            “Zane hold still!”
            “Sorry.”
Note!
When Rachel called Cris a baka she was speaking Japanese. Baka means idiot. And yes there is a reson for her to speak Japanese; it will all make sence later in the story.
